Have you ever wanted to see Charles Krauthammer debate David Plouffe? Thanks to the “Only at GW” Series now you have that chance.
The GW College Democrats, GW College Republicans, Program Board, and the Student Association announced Wednesday that Krauthammer will debate Plouffe on Sunday March 30th at 8:00 p.m. in Lisner Auditorium as part of the “Only at GW” series.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to coordinate a debate with high profile political speakers as a way to actively engage the student body in current hot button political issues of the day,” said SA President Julia Susuni, College Democrats President Omeed Firouzi, College Republicans President Alex Miller, and Programming Board Chair Jon Carfagno, in a joint statement.
Students will be able to attend by picking up free tickets. Tickets can be picked-up by visiting the four organizing organizations during their office hours March 20th-March 28th or by going to the Lisner Box Office on March 30th.
Krauthammer is a Pultizer Prize-winning journalist and syndicated columnist regularly seen on Fox News. He will be representing the Republican perspective in the debate.
Plouffe is a Democratic strategist who was, then Senator, Barack Obama’s Campaign Manager in 2008.
This is the first time that the “Only at GW” series will be held in two years. The first “Only at GW” event was in March 2012 when MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell debated conservative commentator Ann Coulter in a debate moderated by School of Media and Public Affairs Director Frank Sesno.
